100% Whole cluster. Clusters are gently placed in a covered stainless steel tank, where they undergo a 20 day semi-carbonic fermentation. Aged 6 months in neutral French barrels, followed by 3 months in stainless drums. 64 cases produced. 13.2% ABV.

Made from certified organically grown grapes from the Fair Play AVA in El Dorado County, this Barbera brings a fresh and different take on Foothills Barbera. Picked at lower sugar levels and fermented entirely whole-cluster, this wine expresses the bright, fruity aromas associated with carbonic maceration. Tannins extracted from the stems during fermentation provide a counterpoint of earthy, herbal aromas, as well as imparting distinctive, fine tannins on the finish.
