Whole cluster pressed, with a small sulfur addition. Fermented in one neutral French Oak barrel and one Stainless drum, and kept on the lees for 10 months. 40 cases produced. 12.1% ABV.

A relatively rare variety from Southern Italy, this Falanghina is grown in well drained, decomposed granitic soils on a vineyard overlooking the American River. Vineyard manager Steve Viani takes great care to keep his pesticide use to a minimum, and favors organic products. This wine has aromas of pineapple, honey and green tea, but really comes alive in the palate. Surprisingly round and full, the softness on the palate gives way to a long, lingering backbone of acidity and minerality that finishes slowly and refreshingly. Aged in a mix of neutral French oak and stainless steel drums.
